Pictured here is Mike Stenning with Joe Ramsaroot and his nephew at The 89th Annual Re-union of The Royal Sussex Regimental Association, which took place at Lewes Town Hall on 11th September, preceded by the Association’s Annual General Meeting. Over 120 comrades and guests attended, with the principle guest being the Mayor of Lewes Town Council, Mr Stephen Catlin. After missing out last year, due to Covid restrictions, there was a real buzz about the building and it was gratifying to see so many old comrades attending, with wine flowing plentifully. Along with the officers, also present on the top table were some of the newly elected Directors of the new organisation who were warmly welcomed. During the meal and later into the evening the gathering was entertained by a wonderful selection of music provided by the Little Common Concert Band of the Royal British Legion led by their Director of Music, Mr Martin Bunce. They were on fine form, particularly the Regimental Marches played during the Muster by Battalions. The evening was rounded off by multiple renditions of ‘Sussex-by-the-Sea’ with everyone in fine voice. We look forward to the 90th Re-union next year.
